Learning Objectives:
- Accurately assess patients for considerations of an opioid trial and set realistic goals for pain management.
- Initiate opioid treatment safely while maximizing efficacy and minimizing risk.
- Educate patients on safety of medication, misuse, abuse, and diversion.
- Understand how Medication Assisted Therapies are used to treat patients with substance use disorders.
- Understand the primary care provider’s role in providing pain management options. Learn about different pain management options and utilize the appropriate therapy for each patient.
