PSYCHIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER
OUTPATIENT RECOVERY SERVICES

As part of a large continuum of care for patients with co-occurring disorders including inpatient, Addiction Immediate Care Center, Partial Hospital, Intensive Outpatient, and Crisis Services -- the Outpatient Nurse Practitioner will provide evaluations and medication to address both psychiatric and substance use disorder needs of patients. Working under the supervision of the Medical Director of Outpatient Services, will work closely with therapists, RNs, LPNs, and Division Director to provide responsive and integrated treatment. Will meet with team for case reviews, collaborate with other providers, and has the opportunity to work across multiple settings. Excellent in-service education, training and supervision. WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of one year advanced clinical practice in psychiatric nursing preferred.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduation from an accredited graduate program in psychiatric nursing Massachusetts licensure as an advanced practice nurse
  • Board certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Association and recognized to practice in an expanded role by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing
  • Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration (MCSR), or ability to obtain Federal DEA, or ability to obtain

PSYCHIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER
INPATIENT ADULT 24 BED MENTAL HEALTH

In consultation with the attending Psychiatrist, the Psychiatric NP will provide evaluation, brief treatment, and medication management for patients with psychiatric disorders (who may also have co-occurring substance use and/or medical conditions) requiring an inpatient level of care. The NP is one of three lead providers on the unit, directing care with nursing, social work, and mental health assistant staff.  As part of a large continuum of Behavioral Health services, including a range of outpatient step-down programs, will work closely with other staff to further develop this integrated service system. Will have experience treating patients in an acute setting and have a good understanding of co-occurring conditions.


WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of one year experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an inpatient psychiatric setting preferred.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduation from an accredited graduate program in psychiatric nursing
  • Massachusetts License as an Advanced Practice Nurse, or ability to obtain
  • Board certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Association and recognized to practice in an expanded role by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing
