Hi, everyone!

RIDOH is in need of some volunteer physicians and nurses to help us with clinical evaluation of people eligible for testing (and referral) based on protocols we provide. Volunteers will be trained and can either take on-call shifts nights and weekends or be assigned daytime shifts during weekends. Volunteer nurses can work here during mutually agreeable times and volunteer physicians can either be here at RIDOH or be on call. We are receiving hundreds and hundreds of calls every day and have 20-30 people on the phone lines every day from 8:30am-8:30pm.

We are particularly in need of primary care and infectious disease providers. Bilingual/ bicultural providers are also needed. We are hoping to find providers who are at low risk of occupational exposure themselves (to prevent an outbreak here at RIDOH). We are getting hundreds of calls every day and are getting 3-4 messages needing returning for each call we answer. We do not want to deprive the community of needed providers, though, and recognize that patient volume is likely to escalate in care settings due to COVID-19. Please don’t volunteer if you are needed at your own practice location.

No pressure, but if you know anyone who might be able to help, please contact Jackie Kelley over the weekend or 265-0121, cell, or email Jill D’Errico on Monday during business hours <>. Feel free to forward this to any providers who you know who may be interested in helping out.

Thank you! Please stay safe out there—we are grateful for each and every one of you.
