Active Shooter: Critical Incident Casualty Care

A Continuing Education Program for Advanced Practice Nurses and Registered Nurses

Program Description

Recent events involving active shooters, terrorist attacks and gang violence only serve to underscore the need for skilled pre-hospital responders in a critical incident to provide immediate and life-saving care. The purpose of this course is to prepare APRNs and Registered Nurses, through the adaptation of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), to effectively respond to Critical Incident Casualties in a pre-hospital setting. TCCC has become the standard of care in the United States Military and is credited with significant reductions in combat deaths from survivable wounds.
