Speakers

Jennifer Barlow is a highly experienced Nurse Practitioner with over two decades in the medical field. She serves as the Medical Director of the Weight and Wellness Institute, where she leads a multidisciplinary team dedicated to promoting comprehensive health and wellness. Jennifer has a diverse background that includes extensive work in both Primary and Acute Care settings, equipping her with a robust skill set to address a wide range of patient needs. Her commitment to patient-centered care and her passion for preventive medicine drive her approach to managing weight and wellness, focusing on long-term health outcomes and quality of life.

Clinical Assistant Professor
Desirae Heys is a family nurse practitioner who has held clinical practices at WellOne Primary Medical and Dental Care and Providence Community Health Center. She previously served as an adjunct professor and an assistant clinical researcher with the URI College of Nursing. She teaches primary care nursing at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, with a focus on underserved populations and care at federally qualified health centers. She aims to utilize technology, simulation and population health outcomes to educate the next generation of nurse leaders.
