Position Description

Rutland, Vermont: A respected regional cancer center in central Vermont invites a compassionate, skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their dynamic ONCOLOGY team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of cancer patients and their families while practicing in one of New England’s most scenic and welcoming communities.

The Cancer Center provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care across multiple settings: outpatient clinic, inpatient units, emergency department, and telehealth. You will collaborate with a dedicated team of physicians, nurses, and support staff to deliver patient- and family-centered care. While prior oncology experience is preferred, providers with strong clinical skills and a sincere interest in cancer care are welcome. Sharp new graduates with relevant experience and/or appropriate clinical rotations are also encouraged to apply.

This hospital-employed position features a convenient weekday schedule. In this role, you will evaluate and manage patients, coordinate care, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and provide education and counseling. The practice culture emphasizes clinical excellence, mutual support, and strong internal collaboration. The employer maintains close relationships with regional academic medical centers, providing access to numerous specialty resources. This position includes no weeknight call, with just one weekend per month of on-call support.

You will be part of an award-winning, 140-bed nonprofit medical center serving over 85,000 area residents. The hospital is recognized for outstanding patient safety, nursing excellence, and staff satisfaction, with honors from The Leapfrog Group and Healthgrades.

Compensation includes a competitive salary and a generous benefits package featuring relocation assistance, liability insurance, health, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage, retirement plan with employer matching, paid time off for vacations and sick leave, additional CME leave with a dedicated budget, and student loan repayment.

Live and work in the heart of Vermont’s Green Mountains, just 20 minutes from Killington - the largest ski area in the East. This family-friendly city offers excellent schools, a low crime rate, and a high quality of life. Enjoy a vibrant arts and culture scene, local farmers markets, safe neighborhoods, and a strong sense of community. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the year-round recreation options including hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking, snowshoeing, and world-class skiing.
