LEGISLATIVE ACTION NEEDED IMMEDIATELY!!

On Wednesday, May 1, the House Finance Committee will hear two of the four bills designed to strengthen and diversify our healthcare workforce.  

 

H-8078 will establish the Ladders to Licensure grant program providing pathways for healthcare paraprofessionals to pursue higher education degrees and professional licensure.

 

H-8079 appropriates state funding to expand the Health Professional Loan Repayment Program to provide loan repayment assistance for healthcare professionals working at community health centers, mental health centers and other safety net sites.

The Task Force Bills on scholarships and clinical training will be heard by the House Finance Committee at a future date.  We will be in touch at that time to ask for your support and testimony at the hearings.

 

You can help us get the ladders and loan repayment bills passed by submitting written testimony to the House Finance Committee.

• In the subject line of your e-mail write:  Support H-8079 and H-8078
• You can either write your testimony in the body of the e-mail or attach testimony on a separate document written on your agency letterhead.
• A sample letter is attached, but please “make it your own".  
• The House Finance committee members will receive copies of the letters and e-mails, which are also posted on the Finance Committee website.
