Call for Nominations: Join the NPARI Leadership Team!
The Nurse Practitioner Alliance of Rhode Island (NPARI) is excited to announce that nominations will open Monday, July 7th for the following positions:
2 Board of Director Positions
Board of Directors' Duties
a) Attend all board and committee meetings and as many functions, such as special events, as possible.
b) Be conversant about the organization's mission, services, policies, and programs in order to advocate for NPARI.
c) Prepare for board and committee meetings by reviewing the meeting agenda and supporting materials.
d) Serve on committees or ad hoc committees and offer to take on special assignments when your capacity allows.
e) Suggest possible nominees to the Board who can make significant contributions to the work of the Board and the organization.
f) g) h) i) Keep up to date on developments in practice and policy.
Follow conflict–of–interest and confidentiality policies.
Assist the Board in carrying out its fiduciary responsibilities.
The Board of Directors shall appoint replacements for all vacancies of officers by a majority vote at a meeting at which a quorum is present, subject to the qualification requirements for such a position as set forth in these By-laws. The replacement shall complete the term when such a position would ordinarily be filled by the individual most recently completing their elected term.
Treasurer
Duties of Treasurer
a) Duties: Responsible to the NPARI President and membership.
b) Collect and record dues.
c) d) e) Provides a treasurer's report at every business meeting.
Receives and disburses all funds of NPARI as the by-laws prescribe.
Informs the bank of the change in officers and obtains and facilitates the transfer of signature power to new officers.
f) g) i) j) k) l) Assesses the financial needs of the NPARI Board and committees.
Keeps accurate records of expense/budget forms for NPARI
h) Review all budget requests.
Reimburses members for approved expenditures.
Serves as an advisor to all committees in financial matters.
Keeps the President and Board informed of the financial status.
Submits all records to the incoming Treasurer
m) Completes and submits a full financial report to NPARI and provides a copy to the President.
n) Works with AANP to secure both bond and event liability insurance in collaboration with other committees.
Nomination Period: July 7 – August 23
Ballots Sent: August 18
Voting Deadline: September 1 (2 weeks prior to our Fall Business Meeting on Monday, September 8th)
We encourage all interested members to consider running or nominating a colleague who is passionate about advancing nurse practitioner leadership in Rhode Island.
